Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater pearls are typically found in lakes and rivers in China, and are produced in mollusks called mussels. Freshwater pearls have recently revolutionized the pearl industry by producing beautiful and lustrous natural white and pink pearls at a price that is a fraction of Akoya and smaller sized south sea pearls. Although freshwater pearls are plentiful, The Pearl Source selects only the highest quality freshwater to compile our strands and jewelry.

The tones are a bit more golden (and less pink) than my monitor rendered the image, but the necklace is beautiful as is the packaging.

I purchased an AAAA 19 inch 7-8mm pearl necklace. It was beautiful. It appeared to be more towards 7mm than 8 mm but they were beautifully matched and lustrous. I appreciated the presentation, the box was elegant, simple and nicely constructed with the outside box containing a drop side for easy removal of the jewelry case. I also was glad that the box arrived without extraneous promotional materials and paperwork which makes me more comfortable to send jewelry as a gift from The Pearl Source. I read about The Pearl Source in online reviews. It was more competitively priced and offered a nicer catch and provided equal value to another excellent online vendor I have used before.
